The TV market is constantly evolving, with new technologies and pricing models being introduced all the time. 4K has become the standard resolution, but 8K is still a niche market. LCD screens have been around for a long time, but they are now being challenged by OLED panels, which offer better picture quality. HDR and HDMI cable standards are also constantly evolving.

With so many options available, it can be difficult to know which TV is right for you. Here are five of the best TVs we've looked at, as well as some of the things to think about when making your decision.

1. Hisense U8K: Best overall value

This is a Hisense U8K TV one of the bests TVs for 2024

The Hisense U8K is the successor to the Hisense U8H, which was one of our favorite TVs of 2022. It is also one of the brightest TVs we have ever tested. The U8K is a little more expensive than its predecessor, but it is still reasonably priced, especially when considering its semi-official "everyday" price. It offers a wide range of features and a fantastic picture, making it an excellent value for the money. The only downside is that it displays more light bloom than we would like. However, its bright panel, wide color gamut, and Google TV platform, which supports hands-free Google Assistant and Apple AirPlay, make it a great choice for those looking for a high-quality TV at a reasonable price.

While this TV is slightly more expensive than a budget option, it is still relatively affordable. At around $1,100 for a 65-inch screen, it represents one of the best choices available in this price range.

2. Samsung S95C OLED TV: Best Premium OLED TV

The Samsung S95C is the most luminous OLED television we have ever reviewed, overcoming one of the typical drawbacks of this panel technology compared to LED models: relatively low brightness. It also produces extraordinarily broad, precise colors and is equipped with a variety of features, including AirPlay 2 and AMD FreeSync.

If you are seeking a large, high-end TV, the Samsung S95C provides best-in-class picture quality. It is a technological masterpiece that is best suited for affluent individuals with spacious living areas.

 3. LG C3 Evo OLED TV: Best Samsung S90C Alternative

LG's C-series OLED televisions have consistently impressed viewers with their sleek designs and stunning picture quality. The LG C3 continues this tradition, offering exceptional visuals and support for Dolby Vision, a premium HDR format. It runs on LG's intuitive webOS smart TV platform, making it easy to navigate and access various streaming services. However, it is important to note that the LG C3 does not have an ATSC 3.0 tuner, which may be a drawback for some users.

For those seeking exceptional OLED picture quality without breaking the bank, the LG C3 is an excellent alternative to flagship models. Its sub-millisecond input lag makes it equally appealing to gamers as the Samsung S90C, a high-end OLED TV designed specifically for gaming. With its sleek design, stunning visuals, and impressive gaming performance, the LG C3 is a top choice for those seeking a premium TV experience at a more affordable price.

4. Hisense U6K: Best Budget TV

Hisense and TCL have demonstrated that you can obtain exceptional picture quality and a plethora of features from a relatively affordable television (typically between $1,000 and $1,300 for 65-inch models). However, if you go below this price range, you will need to make some sacrifices. The Hisense U6K, for example, is not the brightest TV on the market. However, it delivers outstanding color performance and offers a range of useful features, including Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, and hands-free Google Assistant. It is also frequently available at a price below its suggested retail price, making it one of the best budget-priced TVs we have seen to date.

The Hisense U6K is a budget-friendly option for those looking for a decent TV without breaking the bank. It's a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Hisense U8K, making it a compelling choice for those on a tight budget. Additionally, the Hisense U6K is one of the most affordable large-screen TVs we recommend, with a suggested price of $1,100 for the 75-inch variant. This TV is an excellent option for casual TV watchers who want a good picture without spending a fortune.

5. SunBriteTV Veranda 3 Series: Best Outdoor TV

This is the SunBriteTV Veranda 3 Series, the Best Outdoor TV

Outdoor TVs are a niche product, so they typically come with a higher price tag. The extra cost is justified by the robust build quality that can withstand extreme weather conditions, such as rain, snow, and dirt. However, that doesn't mean you have to settle for subpar picture quality. The SunBriteTV Veranda 3 is a testament to that. With its impressive color range and accuracy, it delivers a stunning visual experience, even in full shade.

Moreover, the Veranda 3's Android TV platform provides access to a plethora of streaming services, and you can even use Google Cast to cast content from your mobile devices. Although it lacks hand-free Google Assistant, you can still control the TV with Google voice commands via the remote. The Veranda 3 is a great option for those looking for an outdoor TV with high image quality and a user-friendly interface.

If you're seeking a TV for your covered deck or patio and are willing to splurge on the best picture quality for such an application, the SunBriteTV Veranda 3 is the perfect choice. While we've encountered a few more budget-friendly outdoor TVs, none can match its stunning visuals or wealth of smart TV features. The Veranda 3's sturdy construction and weatherproofing make it an excellent choice for outdoor viewing, while its exceptional picture quality and comprehensive smart TV features ensure a truly immersive experience.
