Zenfone 11 Ultra: Unveiling the Next Asus Powerhouse

Details about Asus' upcoming flagship phone, the Zenfone 11 Ultra, have emerged ahead of its expected launch. An update for the ROG Phone 8 inadvertently included technical specifications and design visuals for the Zenfone 11 Ultra, which were discovered by Td3v1l and shared on Reddit. Renowned leaker Evan Blass subsequently obtained and published higher-quality images of the device on X. 

This unintentional reveal offers an early look at the phone's design and potential features, generating excitement among tech enthusiasts. However, it also presents a unique challenge for Asus' communication team, who may need to adjust their marketing strategy in light of this early leak.

However, instead of the ROG's aggressive, gamer-centric aesthetics, the Zenfone 11 Ultra features a sleeker, more refined design.

While minor changes differentiate the two, speculation suggests the Zenfone 11 Ultra packs a technical punch exceeding even its gaming-focused counterpart. Further fueling the hype, renowned leaker Evan Blass subsequently published clearer images on X, solidifying the initial design leak and raising anticipation for the Zenfone 11 Ultra's official reveal.

A major launch expected from Asus, but a “surprise” wasted

Since we are now in possession of all these visuals and the almost complete technical sheet of this Zenfone 11 Ultra, we can for our part highlight the quite striking resemblance of the device to its cousin the ROG Phone 8, launched at the start of the year. The device seems to share certain lines, but also a good part of the chassis of the Asus gaming smartphone. It would also include most of the technical elements... to the point of appearing as is like a sort of “rebranded” ROG Phone 8.

In detail, this Zenfone 11 Ultra would indeed feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ (2400 by 1080 pixels) AMOLED screen, taking advantage of LTPO technology to dynamically oscillate between 0 and 120 Hz. Under this screen would shake the inevitable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, coupled with a maximum of 16 GB of LPDDR5X and 512 GB of internal storage in UFS 4.0.

The whole thing would be powered by a 5,500 mAh battery compatible with wired charging at 60 W, and wireless charging at 15 W. The device would also include a 3.5 mm jack headphone jack, which is however disappearing in the smartphone market.

On the photo side, the Zenfone 11 Ultra would finally benefit from a stabilized 50 Mpx Sony IMX890 main sensor, a 13 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a stabilized 32 Mpx x3 zoom.

Note that the arrival, probably soon, of this Zenfone 11 Ultra from Asus should not prevent the brand from marketing a small Zenfone 11 in parallel. As mentioned by several rumors in recent weeks, the device would take the compact concept of the Zenfone 10 and could land on the market during the summer.
